Passion for Building: Learn about the Overcoming
Story behind FHR Contractor
Fernando Rodríguez Mendoza, originally from southern Mexico, comes from a family of 5 members. Being the eldest, he immigrated to the United States in 1998 at age 14, in search of better opportunities. He quickly started working in construction, earning a living through effort and dedication.
In 2001 he met Helen, now his wife, with whom he has formed a beautiful family with two daughters and one son. Together they have raised their children with love, instilling values of hard work and self-improvement.
The year 2017 meant a turning point, not only for having founded his own company, FHR Contractor, fulfilling the dream that brought him to this land, but also for having obtained his residence that same year. Additionally, in 2023 Fernando became a US citizen, reaffirming his commitment to this nation. FHR stands for Fernando, Helen and Rodriguez.
Today, FHR Contractor enjoys great prestige in the industry, thanks to excellent work on every project. They have 12 employees who, together with Fernando's brothers, are in charge of project execution and supervision. Helen oversees all administrative and legal matters. It is a family business, where everyone contributes with dedication. Even the daughters collaborate on specific tasks, learning the value of work.
In its 7 years in the market, FHR Contractor has experienced sustained growth, expanding its client portfolio in Virginia, Washington DC and Maryland. Every project has represented new challenges and learning.
That family spirit and vocation of service that characterize the company remain intact. Fernando continues at the helm with the same passion as the first day, commitment and love for his work. He dreams of establishing FHR Contractor as a benchmark in remodeling and construction in the area, always maintaining the core values on which the company was founded.
